Mary Jurek: Giftware Signing Event

If you’re a fan of giftware designer Mary Jurek (or a giftware fan in general!) you’re not going to want to miss our in-store event coming up. On Saturday, April 29th, Mary Jurek will be in our West Des Moines store from 11am-3pm for a meet-and-greet and giftware signing. Purchase a new piece any time between now and the day of the event and she will sign it in-person.

Mary Jurek’s pieces are classic and versatile. She adds unique details to each piece, like hammered finishes, rope edges and different materials. We have found that people love her pieces because they go with many different decor styles and are great for gift giving. Each piece is made from stainless steel and is food safe and dishwasher safe (with some exceptions).

We are looking forward to seeing you on April 29th!

Product Care

Stainless steel is an iron alloy which contains chromium at 10% or more by weight. It is the addition of chromium that gives the steel its unique “stainless” , corrosion resistant properties. The chromium content allows the formation of an invisible passive layer on the surface. The film is self-healing as long as it is exposed to oxygen. 18/8 stainless steel is 18% chromium and 8% nickel.

It is one of the most hygienic surface metals. Its sterile characteristics make it suitable for medical and scientific applications and food service products. Stainless steel does not react to acidic foods during preparation or cooking. It is very food safe. All stainless steel items are dishwasher safe. Items with wood, or buffalo horn are not. We recommend that products with brass accents be hand-washed to maintain the lacquer coating protection. For cold platters, mixed salads or frozen desserts, stainless steel trays and bowls maintain the chill of refrigeration longer. Whether your dish is hot or cold, your stainless steel serveware will keep the temperatures longer.
