Josephs Three Year Warranty
What’s Covered
All inspections, cleanings, repairs and services to the jewelry valued $2,500 and above. Covered Repairs and Services include the parts and labor necessary to fix problems which occur during normal usage of the jewelry, consistent with the conditions for which it was designed, and all costs covered under the original manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty does not require a 6 month check in to remain valid, but 3-6 months inspection is strongly recommended, as excessive wear and tear is not covered. This warranty covers:
- Bridal purchases
- Items over $2,500
- Shortening of diamond bracelets
- Resizing rings once per year (exclusions apply for modern metals*)
- The replacement of missing accent diamonds and gemstones
- Prong work
- Tightening loose stones
- Restringing of pearls
- Clasp replacement
- Repairing broken chains
- Repairing worn or broken prongs, including channels
- Repairing broken earring posts or similar repairs
- Complimentary RRR on Purchases from us including free updates for life of the piece*
- Free Cleaning
*RRR’s needing a name change will incur a small fee
What’s Not Covered
Jewelry that has been damaged as a result of excessive or abusive treatment, or has been repaired by a store other than Josephs Jewelers is not covered by this 3 year warranty. This plan also does not cover loss or theft of the jewelry, damage resulting to the jewelry from loss, theft or Act of God, or any consequential damages or loss of use resulting from the broken or damaged jewelry, or from any delay in our repairing the jewelry.
*Our warranty excludes modern metals due to their unique properties that prevent traditional resizing and repairs. Many of these materials are incredibly hard or brittle, making them impossible to cut, reshape, or solder without compromising their integrity. These metals include, but are not limited to:
- Tungsten
- Tantalum
- Titanium
- Silver
- Cobalt chrome
- Ceramic
- Stainless steel
- Damascus steel
Unlike gold or platinum, they cannot be resized and often require full replacement if a size adjustment is needed. Because of these limitations, jewelry made from these metals is not covered under our standard warranty for resizing or structural modifications.
JOSEPHS LIFETIME POLISH PROGRAM
For bridal purchases or pieces over $2,500. Once a year we will polish your ring, Josephs will polish and rhodium (if applicable) at no charge. Please be advised excessive polish can accelerate the wear on a ring as polishing requires buffing to the level of the scratches.
MANUFACTURING DEFECTS
Josephs and their vendors stand behind the craftsmanship and casting of their jewelry. Items carry a lifetime warranty against any defects as a result of the manufacturing process.
JOSEPHS REPAIR WARRANTY
Two-Year Limited Warranty- Restoration Repairs:
Repairs performed to restore jewelry to its like-new condition may be covered under a two-year limited warranty only if the repair has been reviewed and approved by a Josephs Jeweler. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidental damage, or excessive wear, which may void coverage.
Coverage may include:
- Replacing missing accent diamonds and gemstones
- Prong work
- Tightening loose stones
- Replacing clasps
- Repairing broken chains
- Repairing worn or broken prongs, including channels
- Repairing broken earring posts or similar repairs
- Ring resizing, in certain instances (rarely), as a one-time no-charge service
Excessive wear, misuse, or accidental damage may void this warranty.
*Restoration Repairs are defined as completing all required repairs, refurbishing, or replacing components as determined by Josephs Jewelers. Due to the age or condition of some items, a warranty may not be available.
One-Year Limited Warranty-Functional Repairs:
Repairs performed to maintain wearability of jewelry may carry a one-year limited warranty, unless explicitly stated as “no warranty.” Excessive wear, misuse, or accidental damage may void this warranty.
Coverage may include:
- Prongs breaking, unless noted as no guarantee
- Cracks forming at sizing areas or soldered breaks, unless noted as no guarantee
- Loose stones, unless noted as no guarantee
- Missing accent stone replacement, unless noted as no guarantee
- Clasps and soldered jump rings
- Broken chains, unless noted as no guarantee
- Tightening of Omega, friction, and leverback closures
- Certain earring repairs
- Screwback earrings cannot be guaranteed unless it is a new threaded post
- Restringing of pearls for six months
Excessive wear, misuse, or accidental damage may void this warranty.
WATCH REPAIRS
Watch parts are subject to availability. We will replace broken parts with original manufacture parts or if unavailable, parts manufactured by some of the worlds largest watch part producers. We will guarantee our work for 1 year on the part that has been replaced. Sometimes other parts break later and these potential breaks are not able to be determined until the issue arises. We cannot guarantee the parts we have not replaced.
ROLEX REPAIRS
Rolex repairs come with a 2 year warranty on the gaskets and internal movement of the watch. Items not included in warranty are the crown, push buttons, case, case frames, case backs, bezels, bezel inserts, dials, hands, bracelet parts, and watch crystal.
